Lyn’s first experience in a legal environment was as a secretary, working for a Woking based solicitors practice for 16 years. Lyn started her employment in 1983 and it soon became apparent to both her and her employer, that since she had such an interest in property law, she should qualify. Lyn successfully completed her studies and was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in January 1993.
Following her training, Lyn was employed as a Conveyancing Executive handling volume registered and unregistered residential clients, freehold and leasehold transactions, and relocation conveyancing transactions.
She decided to leave the practice after 16 years, and moved on to work as a Conveyancing Manager in Cove. Lyn’s team consisted of 10 other members who between them handled a large volume of conveyancing matters.
Lyn later joined a Knaphill Practice as a Partner in 2003 and opened a new office in St Johns, having obtained her Full Licence with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.
Lyn was a Partner with that practice for almost 5 years before Emma Hurford and herself decided to form the partnership of Lyons and Company on 1 May 2007.
Since 2007, Clare Leigh and Catherine Fewings have joined as Partners with Lyn and Emma.
Lyn is married to David and has lived and worked locally for most of her life. She has extensive local knowledge which is very helpful to her clients.
Emma qualified as a Solicitor in 1995 after completing her studies at Leicester University.
Following her articles in Southampton, Emma joined a Woking based established Solicitors practice, where she handled all residential conveyancing transactions, including freehold and leasehold matters.
Emma has a daughter and has lived locally for many years now and like Lyn has extensive local knowledge.
Lyn and Emma worked together in Cove for 4 years, and following this joined Lyn to assist with the setting up of a new office in St Johns in 2003 for a Knaphill practice.
Emma was granted her Licence with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers in 2003. On the 1st May 2007 Lyn and Emma decided to form their own partnership, Lyons and Company.
